Our boat
The Drum Stick Charter boat is a 35' JC fishing vessel equipped with everything you need for a great day of fishing. We have a closed cabin with a restroom. Our experienced Captain and mate are fun loving fishermen who strive to show you a great time and fill your coolers with fish.
Charter Prices
We offer half day inshore fishing charters and full day offshore fishing charters to the Gulf stream. We can take up to 6 people on the boat. If you have a small group, we will try to find others to join your trip to split the cost. A half day fishing trip is $600.00 and the full day fishing trip is $1,150.00 for up to 6 people. We fish year round.
Who we are
Captain Farris O'Neal is a native of Ocracoke Island and has been fishing his entire life. He started as a mate on the Drum Stick and has been fishing commercially for 30 years. In 2009 he purchased the Drum Stick and began taking charters. Captain Marty Baumgaertel has been charter fishing for 25 years and is a beloved Captain. Our mate Nick Piland has a great reputation for being the hardest working mate around. Our crew takes pride in fishing and showing people a great time.
Our Fishing Charters
Inshore fishing
On an inshore fishing charter we can go to the wrecks for bottom fishing for black sea bass and trigger fish, or we can troll along the beach for Spanish Mackerel and bluefish. In late Spring site casting for Cobia is also a possibility.
Gulf stream fishing
On a full day fishing charter we travel about 30 miles out to the bountiful waters of the Gulf Stream. Dolphin, wahoo, tuna, sailfish, trigger, grouper, snapper and seasonal bottom fish can be caught. All of these fish are fun to catch and great to eat.

When you fish aboard the Drum Stick, you can always expect to have a great time. With our experienced and motivated Captain and mate, you will surely have an amazing catch and awesome fishing adventure.
